The remedy was Paid! Thai victim killed in France massacre was remedied by the insurer to his heir • Secretariat of OIC’s Secretary-General witnessed the compensation event In Chonburi.
Dr. Suthiphon Thaveechaiyagarn, the OIC’s Secretary General revealed that the case of Thai victim name of Mr. Anuphong Suebsamarn, the 45 years old, the management of the "Ng Hua Chieng" factory producing noodles and rice noodles, who was killed in the massacre at the Christmas market, Strasbourg in France which caused 3 deaths and 12 injuries, on 11 December, has been investigated of his insurance coverage and claim for possibly rapid and fair remedy to the beneficiary.
The Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) would like to express its sincere condolences to such losses from the incident. Under such, OIC’s Benefit Protection Group together with the Region 6 Office (Chonburi) and the Chachoengsao provincial Office have investigated and monitored the existing of insurance coverage and its conditions to ensure the fast, correct and fair remedy payment.
From the preliminary examination, Mr. Anuphong Suebsamarn, the killed victim have had two life insurance policies with Thai Life Insurance Public Company Limited, policy No.21484142, with the insured amount of THB 400,000 and policy number 44020917, with the insured amount of THB 329,350. After coordination with Thai Life Insurance Public Company Limited, the compensation claim from the incident was approved on December 13, 2018, for the amount of THB 729,350. The compensation of TYHB 729,350 was paid today (14 December 2018) by Mr. DamKeng SuaKhamRam, Regional Marketing Manager 5, as the representative of Thai Life Insurance Public Company Limited, to Mr. Suchat Suebsamarn, as the representative of victim’s mother. The OIC’s Secretary-General, Dr. Suthiphon Thaveechaiyagarn presided and witnessed this remedy payment at Ambassador City Jomtien, Chonburi.
"The OIC would like to express great condolences to the families of the dead victim. The incident can happen anywhere and anytime.
